Join us for a rare treat–two full summer days where beautiful Chewonki Neck is all yours! July 16 and 17 are “intersession” days, the downtime between the first and second camp sessions. With no participants on campus, we invite you to explore our gorgeous 400-acre campus, reminisce, and enjoy a special reception with Chewonki leaders. Here’s the schedule:

9:00 am – 6:00 pm: Visit the farm and walk our nature trails
9:30 am: Guided Nature Walk with Don Hudson
Join former Chewonki President Don Hudson for a guided nature and birding walk. Meet at the Center for Environmental Education and bring your own binoculars. No RSVP is needed.
4:00 – 5:30 pm: Meet & Greet with Chewonki Leaders
Have you ever wondered how Chewonki evolved into the outstanding nature-based nonprofit it is today? Are you curious about our vision for the next decade? Then you must attend this special reception with current and former Chewonki leaders, including:
- Nancy Kennedy, our newly appointed President
- André Heard, our newly appointed Board Chair
- Tim Ellis, President from 1970 to 1991
- Don Hudson, President from 1992 to 2010
This rare gathering promises to be filled with fascinating stories and insightful discussions about Chewonki’s past, present, and future. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with the people who have shaped and will continue to shape our journey.

Join farm manager Jeremy Aines and fellow alumni & friends for a group farm work project. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen. No RSVP is needed.
