Join Chewonki friends, families, and staff for a relaxed group kayak outing in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, or New Jersey this summer!
July 22 - Portland, ME
Fort Gorges is a Civil War-era fort in the middle of Casco Bay that’s only accessible by small boat! Portland Paddle will start off this guided trip with a paddle into Portland harbor and then make the crossing out to the Fort, where we’ll land on a beach and allow plenty of time for exploration. Your knowledgeable guide (Chewonki alumnus Eric Nathanson!) will tell you all about the Fort’s storied history. Other highlights include possible sightings of seals, eider ducks, guillemots, osprey, eagles, and other seabirds.
