Last Wednesday, Chewonki Alumni & Friends gathered at Lamplighter Brewing’s newest taproom to happily celebrate spring’s return, rekindle relationships, and sample Lamplighter’s yummy beers and charcuterie boards. The festive occasion – our first since the onset of Covid – was attended by over 40 alumni and former staff members.

Also present were Willard Morgan and Board Chair Roseanne Saalfield, who made a short address to attendees about Chewonki’s covid journey to date, and board members Scott and Laura Beebe, Gerrit Lansing, André Heard, Julius Alexander, and Elizabeth Mygatt.

We also saw a strong showing from semester 57 alumni, with five members attending!

Lamplighter Brewing was co-founded in 2015 by alumna Cayla Marvil (trips), who generously gave us private access to the brewery’s chic upstairs taproom, which we decorated with Chewonki swag and yellow blooms.

Another evening highlight was a surprise Chewonki sheep pelt giveaway, won by alumnus and former staff Justin Reich. Guests also helped themselves to custom Chewonki eco-koozies made special for the event.

Thank you to all attendees who helped make our Spring Shindig a success. We hope to see you again in Cambridge next year!
