Welcome to the Chewonki Frog Cam!
Spring frogs are on the move, and if you check back at just the right time, you’ll see and hear the amphibious inhabitants of our frog pond.

At the heart of it all...
But the screen is not the real world.
What if there was a place where young people could step away from the noise, slow down, and rediscover their sense of purpose?
A place where connection matters more than connected.

A place to challenge youth, in a supportive environment, to embrace mistakes, make new discoveries, solve problems, and push past their comfort zones.
A place to share experiences, responsibilities, and storytelling, and build lifelong friendships and a true sense of community.
A place that values curiosity, hands-on education, and learning from what we see, touch, hear, taste, and smell in the world all around us.

When we immerse young people in nature, they naturally become inspired to care for the environment and understand the power of their individual choices.
When we learn to love the small things
We learn to protect the big things.
At Chewonki, we’ve been providing nature-based education to amazing young people from all over the country and around the world since 1915.
(The horseshoe crab is 445 million years old.)
We do this because the beautiful, complex, intertwined web of life requires transformative growth, appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and the ability to build thriving, sustainable communities.
For all things, great and small.
There is so much to love in this world.
And with your help, we’ll continue to nurture the next generation of environmental advocates, stewards, and leaders.
Happy Earth Week!
