It’s no secret that 2019-2020 has been a complete Dickensian “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times” spectacle, all unfolding in the span of twelve months.
Thanks to our participants, staff, faculty, donors, Trustees, Advisors, (and you!), we had a truly incredible year:
We paddled all the rivers. We milked all the cows. We learned all the subjects. We welcomed thousands of amazing young people on their first experience getting up, out, and into nature. We scienced things you didn’t even know could be scienced.
And at the same time, we are all facing incredible challenges right now, global, local, and personal.
The bigger the challenges have been, the more we find ourselves appreciating a core belief embedded in our community and in every program we run:
Many things are hard.
It’s ok that things are hard.
We can do this.
We mean it.
By supporting each other, we will continue to learn and grow and provide life-changing learning in nature for the amazing young people who join Chewonki programs each year.
Working together we can thrive. Thank you!
