Muscongus Bay Exploration — available upon request
Muscongus Bay is often described as one of the premiere sea kayak stopovers on the Maine Island Trail. Rich with both cultural and natural history and dotted with many islands and inlets to explore, the bay is a sea kayaker’s haven. We start our adventure with some basic instruction, and by the end of the day we land on the shores of Chewonki-owned Hungry/Hall Island, our base camp. We spend the next several days exploring neighboring islands, picnicking on beaches, hiking around islands, paddling with seals, and enjoying the warm days and clear nights of late summer.
