Kenne-bec-bec, and season’s greetings from all of us here at Chewonki! While Chewonki is cold and quiet right now, our Centennial Summer of 2015 is just around the corner and we can’t wait.
Our memories of this past summer remain special and we hope yours serve as a reminder of the joyous days you spent here in 2014, and inspires excitement to return in 2015. Each day at Chewonki is to be treasured. Whether you were a Puffin canoeing for the first time, exploring the cliffs at Debsconeag Lake as part of our Adventures for Girls, or a Tripper earning your five-year shirt after a rigorous hike on the Appalachian Trail, we know your experience was meaningful and full of wonderful memories.
Next summer will be here before you know it! Plans for summer 2015 are moving right along. As of this writing, over 145 participants have signed up for next summer. Spaces are going quickly. Please consider your plans for 2015 now. We don’t want to disappoint anyone. We’ve had so much fun visiting with so many of you this fall and hope to see many more of you in our travels throughout the winter. Please note the upcoming gatherings and reunions mentioned in this newsletter scheduled for January. Join us, and bring a friend along as well! We hope to visit the Washington DC, Philadelphia and Boston regions in February as well. We’ll keep you posted about when and where!
No matter how many years you have been at Chewonki, new adventures, challenges, friendships and opportunities await you. I hope that our paths cross on Chewonki Neck in the summer months ahead. Please be in touch if we can provide any assistance with your planning for summer 2015.
